NAPA to host June 19 webinar on airfield asphalt binder
The Airport Asphalt Pavement Technology Program (AAPTP) commissioned a project to develop additional guidance on binder grade selection and the development of a tool to aid practitioners and those results will be presented in a June 19 webinar.
The webinar, Guidance for Asphalt Binder Grade Selection at Airfields, will also launch a new tool for airfield asphalt binder selection.
Participants in the June 19 session at noon ET will become familiar with the AAPTP’s airfield binder selection guidance and learn the differences between binder grades for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Department of Defense (DoD) airfields.
Attendees will also experience the new Airfield Asphalt Binder Selection Tool to aid practitioners in selecting the proper grade of asphalt binder for airfields.
Speakers will include Raquel Moraes, an assistant research professor at the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) at Auburn University, Ben Ciavola, WAP Sustainability’s director of LCA technology, and NAPA Vice President for Engineering, Research, & Technology Richard Willis.
