NAPA’s Nile Elam named to The Hill’s list of top lobbyists
The Hill annually releases its list of top lobbyists across industries who are making a difference in Washington. NAPA Vice President for Government Affairs Nile Elam made the 2024 list.
The Hill’s annual list of top lobbyists recognizes “the best in the business,” among corporate, association, and grassroots lobbyists, as well as “hired guns.” The Hill has reported on the intersection of politics and business since 1994.
Elam, who joined NAPA in 2023, leads NAPA’s government affairs team on federal legislative and regulatory policies.
“I am honored to receive this recognition, which reiterates the great support NAPA’s advocacy efforts receive from our President & CEO Audrey Copeland, the Board of Directors, and member companies who help advance our federal policy priorities at every juncture,” Elam said. “While I am humbled to be acknowledged, this is not an individual accolade, but rather underscores the fantastic Government Affairs team we have assembled at NAPA, and the vast legislative, regulatory, and political portfolios we undertake. Our team continues to build a great spotlight for NAPA with countless elected officials, and that pursuit will only intensify next Congress as we aim to pass our next highway reauthorization package in 2026. The asphalt industry plays a critical role in shaping the literal connectivity of virtually every community across the country, and I’m fortunate to be able to tell our members’ stories each and every day.”
This was the first time Elam has received this distinction.
“A lot of great work is achieved in this town by lobbyists without anyone knowing who did the hard labor, but in terms of a recognition from peers and publications who follow this world, it is humbling,” he said. “More importantly, I truly think this shows NAPA’s advocacy is making the ‘right noise’ with people around Capitol Hill.”
