Connecting Congress & Community

NAPA’s Government Affairs team aims to connect elected representatives with the workers who pave their roads.

This fall, the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA) enters its final year, with a new surface transportation reauthorization bill taking shape to replace it come Sept. 30, 2026.

The 119th Congress stands to be one of the most educated in recent memory when it comes to asphalt pavement’s role in surface transportation investment, thanks to a renewed interest in the NAPA Political Action Committee (PAC) and a new push from leaders to set goals for fundraising and engagement.

After an August recess that saw NAPA members host members of Congress at their mix plants and job sites, stakeholders gathered in Washington, D.C. in September to join forces with materials associations across the road-building space to push for shared goals at Hill Day.

It doesn’t end there, though. NAPA’s Government Affairs team can help you schedule time with your lawmakers through the holidays, into the new year and beyond.

The next highway bill is coming together, so don’t miss your opportunity to help your representatives see its connection to your community.
