Willis to Chair TRB Committee

On April 15, NAPA Vice President for Engineering, Research, and Technology Richard Willis will become the Chair of the Transportation Research Board’s AKM10 Committee – Production and Use of Asphalt.

The scope of this TRB committee includes the production and use of asphalt materials and how economics, equipment, material selection, performance, placement, plants, production, specifications, and workforce are areas of primary interest.

“TRB committees address critical issues for the asphalt industry by developing research needs and bringing researchers, agencies, and industry together,” Willis said. “While I am chair of this committee, I hope we can more fully engage the asphalt industry.”

As part of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, the Transportation Research Board (TRB) mobilizes expertise, experience, and knowledge to anticipate and solve complex transportation-related challenges.
