USDA announces rural small business grants

Renewable Energy and Efficiency Funding for Rural Small Businesses

Small businesses with operations located in rural areas are eligible for loan guarantees and grants to install renewable energy and energy efficiency upgrades as part of the USDA’s Rural Energy for America Program.

Grants will cover up to 50% of the total eligible project costs, and loan guarantees can cover up to 75% of total eligible project costs.

The criteria for “small business” designation are defined at 7 CFR 4280.103. The USDA’s Property Eligibility Map can help identify areas that qualify as rural.
