TRIP releases report on Maine roads
The national transportation research nonprofit TRIP released a report this week tracking the conditions and investments of roads, highways, and bridges in Maine.
Keeping Maine Mobile chronicles the results of the nearly $7 billion investment the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) has made in its surface transportation infrastructure since 2018. It also reveals the significant transportation challenges Maine faces and the importance of “continued, sustained, and predictable” funding as opposed to one-time, shorter funding infusions.
Founded in 1971, TRIP is a private, nonprofit organization that researches, evaluates, and distributes economic and technical data on surface transportation issues. By generating traditional and social media news coverage, TRIP informs and promotes policies that improve the movement of goods and people, make surface travel safer, and enhance economic development and productivity.
