CONEXPO education opportunities include asphalt sessions

Education sessions during the 2026 CONEXPO/CON-AGG trade show in Las Vegas will include speakers from across the construction industry as laborers, engineers, and executives all come together to learn more about best practices.
There will be more than a dozen sessions devoted solely to asphalt pavements, with NAPA presenting several programs featuring staff and members.
On March 3, Caterpillar’s Todd Mansell will lead his session, titled Building Longitudinal Joints to Last!, while Cargill’s Hassan Tabatabaee will present Bio-Based Additives and Balanced Mix Design: Advancing Sustainability and Performance.
NAPA Senior Manager for Digital Marketing Kate Lancaster Pounds will talk about social media and its role in road construction as part of a March 4 session along with Marvin Joles of In The Mix Media Co. and Taylor McPherson with Lehman-Roberts, A Granite Company. The session, Asphalt Meets the Information Highway: Leveraging Social Media for Growth and Impact, will explore how companies leverage social media to build community, engage customers, share technical insights, and manage their reputation.
On March 5, Asphalt Pavement Alliance Technical Director Buzz Powell will discuss Asphalt Pavement Forensics, offering attendees opportunities to learn from his decades of experience identifying cracks and other pavement failures at the National Center for Asphalt Technology (NCAT) before coming to APA.
And on the final day of the trade show, Wisconsin Asphalt Pavement Association Executive Director Debbie Schwerman will lead a session titled Asphalt Quality Essentials: From Planning, Production, and Into Construction, focused in on the fundamentals of ensuring top-notch quality in asphalt mixture production and construction.
