Call for Nominations: NAPA State Advisor Elections

NAPA is gearing up for its State Advisor elections, and we’re looking for passionate and qualified individuals at asphalt mix producer companies to represent your state on the NAPA Advisory Council!

Your involvement is crucial in shaping the future of our industry. The NAPA Advisory Council plays a vital role in bringing state and regional perspectives to NAPA. Its members advocate for the industry, help advance NAPA through recruitment and participation, and ensure state representation by supporting active engagement of all member companies.

What does a State Advisor do?

State Advisors are a critical link between NAPA and the state. Their primary duties include:

  • Advising and Informing: Supporting NAPA’s goals and strategies by advising the NAPA Board of Directors on industry issues, challenges, and opportunities, and recommending relevant programs, research, and events.
  • State Representation: Acting as the voice of their respective state, directly influencing NAPA initiatives.
  • Advocacy Support: Engaging with regulatory, elected, and agency officials to support NAPA advocacy initiatives.
  • Membership Growth: Leading and encouraging sustainable growth of NAPA through assistance in meeting membership goals and promotion of NAPA programs and events.

Who are we looking for?

Ideal candidates will have leadership experience within their state asphalt pavement association and a strong understanding of the asphalt pavement industry. State Advisors are elected by producer members in good standing.

Term of Service: Newly elected State Advisors will serve a three-year term, commencing January 1, 2026, and concluding December 31, 2028.

States Seeking Nominees

For the upcoming election, NAPA is seeking nominees to serve as the State Advisor in the following twenty states: Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Maine, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

Election Timeline

  • Sept. 19: Nomination deadline. Submit via SurveyMonkey
  • After Sept. 19: NAPA staff will review nominations for eligibility.
  • Late September: Voting opens for two weeks. Only Producer authorized representatives are eligible to vote through a secure online platform.
  • Within two weeks after voting closes: Election results are announced.
  • January 2026: Newly elected State Advisors attend an orientation session during NAPA’s Annual Meeting and begin their term.
