Board leadership, Advisory Councils visit NAPA HQ

NAPA members joined staff at the organization headquarters in Greenbelt, Maryland for a series of meetings and networking this week.
NAPA’s incoming Board of Directors Chair, Jay Lemon with Haskell-Lemon, visited as part of his orientation on Sept. 15 and was joined by 2026 officers Jason Duininck of Duininck, Inc. and Ron Sines with CRH.
Each fall, the incoming NAPA Board Chair meets with President & CEO Audrey Copeland and the rest of staff to get an up-close look at how NAPA accomplishes its mission and the roles each staff member plays in achieving its goals. The visit also provides a foundation for introducing the new leader to the rest of the membership, which occurs in the new year at the NAPA Annual Meeting.
Current NAPA Board Chairman Pat Nelson will hand over the gavel to Lemon during the NAPA 2026 Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona Jan. 27-30.
Lemon was elected chair during a vote by the Board earlier this year. Additionally, Duininck was elected to the first vice chair role, and Sines will serve as second vice chair.

On Sept. 16, NAPA’s Northeast and Southeast Regional Advisory Councils were at the Greenbelt office for a joint information session to discuss how the organization’s office staff and subject matter experts work together to support members and the industry.
Members were able to pepper staff with questions about the latest efforts around engineering, safety, communications, legislation, and operations. Many planned to remain in town ahead of Hill Day, NAPA’s joint advocacy effort with other trade associations in the road construction space, which runs Sept. 17-18 in nearby Washington, D.C.
