QIC, Diamond applications due Friday
The 2025 NAPA Awards & Commendations application window will close on Friday, Oct. 31, but there is still time to ensure your crews, road projects, and plants all receive the recognition they deserve.
Winners of the Sheldon G. Hayes Award, Ray Brown Airport Award, and Larry H. Lemon Awards will be announced at the NAPA 2026 Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona Jan. 26-29. QIC winners will also participate in photo opportunities at the NAPA Awards Gallery.

NAPA’s Quality in Construction (QIC) Awards identify road projects across the nation that meet and exceed standards for performance, from state road overlays to full-scale interstate paving.
Dozens, even hundreds, of QIC projects are recognized annually through NAPA Awards, but the highest rated road projects can qualify for other prestigious awards, like the Larry H. Lemon Award.
Having a Diamond Commendation assures partners that the company follows best practices for quality, safety, and excellence, since it allows businesses to benchmark their operations against a national standard.
Diamond Commendations have served as a catalyst for earned media, giving local and regional news outlets an angle for coverage of the asphalt pavement businesses that keep their community moving.
Self-assessments are available in five categories, which document and recognize the use of best practices for asphalt plant operations, terminal operations, asphalt production, and paving:
- Diamond Achievement
- Diamond Achievement Sustainable
- Diamond Terminal
- Diamond Quality
- Diamond Paving
