UC Berkeley establishing Monismith fellowship

Join the University of California Berkeley in establishing the Carl L. Monismith Graduate Fellowship.

A pioneer in the development and advancement of asphalt pavement technology and design with more than 60 years of dedicated service to UC Berkeley, Carl L. Monismith was a giant in his field.

To honor his legacy and ensure UC Berkeley continues to attract world-class talent, the Monismith Fellowship Committee aims to transform a brand new Carl L. Monismith Legacy Endowment Fund into the Carl L. Monismith Endowed Graduate Fellowship

This perpetual fund will support promising Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) graduate students, a top priority for campus leadership. This master’s level fellowship requires a minimum endowment of $250,000. Carl’s children, Stephen and Carla, launched the effort with a combined gift of $100,000.

Contributions will directly advance knowledge and innovation in Carl’s spirit.  All gifts made to the UC Berkeley Foundation are tax-deductible.

Gifts may be made online, by check (including IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions), or other means.
