EPA seeks changes to PFAS drinking water rule

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has proposed rolling back some PFAS drinking water standards while extending compliance deadlines for water treatment facilities.

The proposal could reduce regulatory burdens for a range of industries, including some with no direct connection to drinking water systems, while also helping limit future costs for rural ratepayers and upwards of $50 billion in capital improvement investments.
