Airfield webinars set for October

Virtual learning opportunities from the Airfield Asphalt Pavement Technology Program (AAPTP) return this fall with two opportunities for participants to further their asphalt pavement knowledge.
Balanced Mix Design for Airfield Pavements: Low-Temperature Cracking Prediction is set for Oct. 6. Speakers will present findings from the AAPTP Balanced Mix Design study on low-temperature cracking prediction of asphalt mixtures for airfield pavements.
Speakers include Imad Al-Qadi with the University of Illinois, Eshan Dave with the University of New Hampshire, and NAPA’s Brett Williams.
On Oct. 13, UI’s Akash Bajaj and Arizona State’s Hasan Ozer will join Al-Qadi and Williams for an exploration of Balanced Mix Design and the cracking potential of asphalt airfields.
Balanced Mix Design for Airfield Pavements: Service-Temperature Cracking Potential will explain the mechanisms of load-related cracking in airfield asphalt pavements and why cracking potential is an important consideration in balanced mix design.
