EPA: TCE compliance requirements are not extended for asphalt industry

In written correspondence, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) indicated that trichloroethylene (TCE) ban compliance requirements extensions are not applicable to the asphalt industry.

The EPA noted that the prior extensions of those requirements were only applicable to very specific statutory sections that are currently under litigation.

It is even more important now that each company understand their compliance obligations – some of which have now passed – associated with use of TCE and other chlorinated solvents.
